What we're doing
There will be service changes on the line in 2026. Changes will be in effect over the following dates:
- Weekends:
- July 31-August 3
- August 7-10
- August 14-17
- August 21-24
- Overnight on certain weekdays in August.
We will provide more detailed service changes and travel alternatives as those become available.
Service changes and travel alternatives
Weekends, July 31-August 3 and August 14-17
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, trains aren't running between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Church Av.
- For service to/from stations between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Church Av, take trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Jay St-MetroTech, and transfer to/from the .
- G trains are running in two sections:
- Between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
- Between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts, every 20 minutes.
Weekends, August 7-10 and 21-24
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
- Free T403 shuttle buses are running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, making all stops.
- trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
Additionally, during the weekend of August 7-10, Bedford-Nostrand Av-bound trains will not stop at 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy. For service to/from those stations, take the to Smith-9th Sts or 7 Av and transfer to an train going in the opposite direction.
Weeknight, August 3-4
From 9:45 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Coney Island-bound and Church Av-bound trains will not stop at 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy.
- For service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound or Court Sq-bound train.
Weeknights, August 5-6 and 11-12
From 10:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, Manhattan-bound and Court Sq-bound trains will not stop at 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy.
- For service to/from these stations, take a Coney Island-bound or Church Av-bound train.
Weeknights, August 17-21
From 10:45 p.m. each weeknight (Monday-Thursday) until 5 a.m. the next morning, trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
- Free T403 shuttle buses are running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, making all stops.
- trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes.
Why we're doing it
Some of these changes are related to our ongoing effort to modernize signals on the line. While service is suspended, our crews will work on installing equipment, including cables, that will support the new signaling system.
Other changes are related to ongoing accessibility improvements, structural work, and track maintenance, which is necessary to keep the line in a state of good repair—and ensure you have a smooth ride.
